The Summer Remains by Seth King *****

"Twenty-four-year-old Summer Johnson knows two things. The first is that due to a quickly worsening medical condition, she faces a risky surgery in three months’ time that may or may not end in her death. The second is that she would like to fall in love before then."

Well, where to begin with this review? I will tell you that this is a beautifully written story of love, hope, pain and despair. It is a story of finding oneself and being reborn out of the ashes of sadness and anger. It is a very well written book and the author Seth King did a great job at building the characters and giving us a glimpse into their souls. You will love it, you will hate, it will make you laugh and cry and like the tittle, this book will remain with you long after you finished reading it.

This story does not have a happy ending. At least not in the traditional way of 'happy ever after' but it does have a hopeful ending in the sense that life does go on, with or without our loved ones and time has a way of making things better. It really does.
